West End comes to Bundaberg cinema

THE West End will be making its way to Bundaberg next month for one glorious night of musical wonder.

Last month, Australian company CinemaLive announced it would distribute West End Theatre Productions into cinemas across the country.

This marked the first time that productions from the West End's leading commercial theatre producers were available as a global cinema series.

Merrily We Roll Along is the first of the West End Productions to be distributed to cinemas worldwide.

Digital Theatre worked in partnership with Britain's leading theatre companies to capture live performance authentically onscreen, uses multiple camera angles and high-definition technology.

Multiple Tony Award winning composer and lyricist, Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along is the story of three dear friends and their unstable relationship over three decades.

Starting in 1980 and travelling backwards in time, the story features some of Sondheim's most beautiful songs including Good Thing Going, Not a Day Goes By and Old Friends.

Merrily We Roll Along was captured during the productions final performances at the West End's Harold Pinter Theatre.

Moncrieff Theatre will play host to this event on Sunday, November 17, at 3pm.

Runtime is about 160 minutes and includes a 15-minute interval.

Tickets are $28 per person.
