Website crashes, phone runs hot in NRL ticket rush

The Bundaberg Rugby League Association says just under 4,500 tickets have been sold for the trial between the Cowboys and Broncos at Salter Oval next year.

With the website crashing earlier this morning, as the public went online to purchase, many missed out on the opportunity to grab tickets.

The Association has now held back tickets and will release them online when the site is back up and running.

They plan to go online again at 1:45 this afternoon.

FANS wanting NRL trial tickets for the clash between the Cowboys and Broncos have been left frustrated as the website and phone lines crashed this morning as they went on sale to the general public.

Just before they were meant to go on sale to the public the website crashed leaving thousands of fans disappointed as they couldn't access tickets.

On the phone it hasn't been much better with fans telling the NewsMail Facebook page they have rung more than 70 times with no luck so far.

The Bundaberg Rugby League Association says more staff are being put on the phone lines and they are working hard with the technicians to fix the website.

Currently there is no time frame for it to be back online with the association adding they have never seen demand like this before in the region.

For fans wanting tickets the best option is to head to the visitor information centre in Gin Gin, Bundaberg, or Childers.

If you can't make it to those venues, you can continue calling on 1300 722 099.

There are still tickets available as of 11 this morning.
