Wait for test results for second quarantined property

IT COULD be several weeks before results for seven horses tested for hendra virus at a second property quarantined at South Kolan are known.

A Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry spokeswoman said three lots of tests would be carried out, over a period of a month, on the horses.

The first property was quarantined on Wednesday after a horse became unwell and was euthanised last Monday. It tested positive for the virus.

The second property in Katrina Cres was quarantined on Thursday.

No further properties in the area had been quarantined, the spokeswoman said.
