UPDATE 3.50pm: TRAFFIC is moving slowly with the aid of police after a truck came off a bridge on Goodwood Rd.

The driver sustained minor injuries and scratches from the incident, which was called in just before 3pm.

The man was able to free himself from the truck cabin before Ambulance, fireys and police services arrived on scene at the Coonarr Rd intersection.

Trevor Duncan, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services station officer at Bundaberg said their main concern now was stemming the flow of fuel out of the tanks and into the creek bank.

"... that is in the vicinity of 600 litres approximately that has leaked," Mr Duncan said.

"One tank has fully ruptured underneath the vehicle due to the rocks and what have you that is in the creek where it (the semi trailer) has laid to rest.

"We have dammed up some of the fuel, however we are in a creek so its not been a real success because it has soaked into the upper creek bank."

Mr Duncan said the Environmental Protection Agency will be soon make an assessment on the situation.

A crane may be needed to remove the truck from the creek.

As for the clean-up of the fuel, Mr Duncan said that was council's domain.

"They may need to put some machinery in here and excavate some of the soil from the immediate area," he said.

"For this one, I'm imagining they will need a crane to lift this one clear."

3.20pm: TRAFFIC was temporarily brought to a standstill after a truck left Goodwood Rd and rolled down an embankment.

The driver of the truck managed to free himself from the cabin before emergency services arrived.

The crash happened shorty before 3pm at the Coonar Rd intersection.

Traffic is banked up in both directions but is flowing slowly.

It's understood the truck driver has a minor head injury.
