Toowoomba pizza chain one of first offering beer delivery
Pizza Hut Australia is now adding beer to its delivery menu, which means you can get a six-pack delivered to your door with your order.
Toowoomba is among the first stores to try out the new service, which is now rolling out across Australia.
New research commissioned by Pizza Hut has revealed that more than one third, 39%, of Aussies feel judged about their beer choices, while more than one out of three, 38%, Aussies have admitted to choosing their beer based on how others will perceive them.
To avoid the fuss, Pizza Hut has selected some of the best-selling beers for Toowoomba residents including Victoria Bitter, Great Northern, XXXX and Corona.
The beer selection is a nod to keeping things simple with hot pizza and ice cold beer.
When knocking back a beer, 75% of Aussies say that pizza is their go-to choice of food. While 63% chose burgers, 51% choosing hot chips and 47% choosing wings.
Interestingly, Aussies feel more comfortable about their drinking choices when at home, with almost half, 40%, of Aussies agreeing they would change their beer choice, opting for more familiar beers.
Chief marketing officer Chet Patel said beer culture had become complicated with so much choice.
“We wanted to make the choice simple and just want to make it easier to share good times,” he said.
“We’re no strangers to controversy with the debate about whether pineapple belongs on pizza that has been raging for years and yet Hawaiian is one of our top selling pizzas.”
Pizza Hut’s new beer delivery service starts from $19.95.
