Push for Toowoomba shops to open at 11am, close 8pm
RETAIL opening hours in Toowoomba could change drastically if the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce's push for later opening hours becomes reality.
The chamber is suggesting retailers open their doors at 10 or 11am and remain open until 8pm.
Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Greg Johnson said the move was about giving people the ability to make better use of their time after work each day.
"The chamber would like to see later starts and later finishes for retailers," Mr Johnson said.
