Woman taken to hospital after car smash
UPDATE: A 20-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after a two-car smash on Bargara Rd.
It is believed a white Suzuki Jeep collided with a red Subaru - just before midday - as the car stopped to turn into a driveway near Kalkie State School.
The driver of the Suzuki, Hannah Bauer, a green P plater was transported to Bundaberg Hospital.
An ambulance officer at the scene reported the woman had suffered arm and possible spinal injuries.
Miss Bauers father said his daughter had been travelling to work at the time of the incident.
Subaru driver Sharon Benson was shaken, but uninjured in the crash.
"I was coming towards town and stopped to turn into my driveway and it shunted me onto the other side of the road," she said.
"She mustn't have seen me.
"All I remember is bang!"
Ms Benson said her Subaru was bumped into the lane with oncoming traffic.
Rebecca Wright was travelling just a few cars behind and watched the incident unfold.
"I just saw the car swerving across the road," she said.
The incident was cleared just after 12.30pm and the road was re-opened to traffic.
