Plenty to see at Miriam Vale this Saturday

MOST people stop in Miriam Vale for a fleeting moment - filling the tank and a grabbing a quick bit to eat is a long stay - but Saturday at the Gary Larson Oval there is four games of rugby league to have people hanging around for a bit longer.

In conjunction with the first round of the Northern Districts Rugby League two of the Brisbane Broncos feeder clubs, CQ Capras and Souths Logan Magpies, will face off at 4pm to get the 2015 footy season under way in style.

Starting the day will be the 2014 premiers, South Kolan, playing Burnett Heads Cutters (1pm), followed by Avondale v Gin Gin (2.30pm) with the home team Miriam Vale taking on Agnes Water (6pm).

Gary Larson Oval group chairman Owen Harms said his committee is excited to host the carnival of rugby league and there will be top-class rugby league played on the day.

"We are thrilled to bring an event of this calibre to our community and sports complex," Harms said.

"It's a fantastic opportunity and a huge inspiration for some of our talented players.

"There will be quite a few fringe NRL players on display - even Corey Oates is playing."

Gate open at noon with the junior coaching clinic starting the day, the first game kicks off at 1pm. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children.

Buses will be running through the district, for more information and to book a seat call 4974 5428.
