Man escapes injury in truck fire incident

EMERGENCY services were tasked to a reported truck fire south of Bundaberg last night.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said four crews were called to the vehicle fire, with the first arriving on scene just past 11pm. 

She said there was a trailer on fire, which crews had put out by 11.30pm. 

Queensland Police Services were called in to close the highway as a result of the incident. 

A QPS spokeswoman said the highway was opened under traffic control just before midnight. 

Firefighters left the scene in the hands of police before returning a few hours later after reports of hot spots. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the crews assessed one male patient at the scene of a truck fire that was reported at 11.17pm on Childers Rd, Apple Tree Creek.

The spokesperson said the the man was uninjured and did not require transport to hospital.
