McIlwraith school celebrating after winning 10 iPads
TWENTY-TWO students at McIlwraith State School were celebrating this week when it won the NewsMail's 10 iPads competition.
Teacher aid Eve Carselbine said the students and staff were overjoyed with the win which meant students would have access to .
"Because we are a small school we don't have the same funds as a bigger school so to win this is helping us out," she said.
"The kids were absolutely amazed by winning and were over the moon."
She said the students would be able to use the iPad apps for maths and spelling lessons as the technology was integrated into classrooms.
The competition ran from Saturday, February 22 until Monday, March 31 with about 75% of the schools in the region participating.
The aim of it was to equip a local school with the best educational tools available.
