Man flown to hospital from Fraser Island after snake bite

A MAN has been airlifted off Fraser Island after he was bitten by a snake at Eurong about 2am Thursday morning. 

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew the man who was in his early 20s to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition. 

The man, who was treated on the island before being flown to Hervey Bay, was on holidays from Germany.

The type of snake is unknown at this stage.
