WHEN Benjamin Kuskey signed for Gin Gin at the start of the 2014 Northern Districts Rugby League season he did so because he wanted to play football with his Brothers, Brent and Aaron.

Benjamin scored two tries in the weekend's 44-24 win over Miriam Vale that saw the Hawks claim the minor premiership with Brent and Aaron by his side for a change.

Kuskey said he was glad the season was nearly over and the finals started soon: "It was a long season at the end of the day - I played every game," Kuskey said.

"I came out here to play with my brothers and I'm the only one that's played.

"They're (Avondale) be at home, it'll be a tough game and they'll come out firing and hopefully we can weather the storm."

Left to fly the family flag alone for the majority of the season, Benjamin was the only Gin Gin player to pull the jersey on in every game

South Kolan defeated Agnes Water 54-34 in the other game to finish the regular season. There was plenty of open spaces in the field after Agnes Water fielded 11 players and South Kolan 10.

Sekope Tua from South Kolan made the most of the extra room and crossed for four tries.

The NDRL shifts Avondale Sunday when the finals get under way with Avondale and Gin Gin playing for a spot in the grand final while South Kolan and Miriam Vale play in the elimination final.
