APN’S NRL team of the week: Round 2
APN's NRL team of the week
Fullback - ANTHONY MINICHIELLO (Roosters): (Pictured) Answered critics who said he had played one season too many with a career first hat-trick.
Winger - PAT RICHARDS (Wests Tigers): Two tries, seven goals and a massive 237m. No need to say much more. Outstanding.
Centre - JARROD CROKER (Canberra): Relinquished the goal-kicking duties but made up for it with two tries.
Centre - JAMIE LYON (Manly): Ultimate competitor who turned in his usual inspiring 80-minute effort. Missed having Brett Stewart on his hip.

Winger - BRETT MORRIS (Dragons): Edged out Josh Mansour with his length-of-the-field try to get into our backline this week. In full flight he is quite a sight.
Five-eighth - GARETH WIDDOP (Dragons): Makes the side again after a majestic effort against the Warriors. Could prove to be the buy of the season.
Halfback - TRENT HODKINSON (Bulldogs): Hodkinson's domination was a joy to watch as he controlled the game and kicked a perfect seven from seven.
Prop - JASON KING (Manly): What a comeback from injury. Stepped up and took on Souths and in particular to Burgess brothers with a display that was loaded with heart and courage.
Hooker - ANDREW MCCULLOUGH (Broncos): Kid just keeps getting better. Very busy defensively, and scored the match-winning try against the Cowboys.
Prop - JESSE BROMWICH (Melbourne): Earned himself a new contract with another eye-catching game highlighted by 170 tough metres.
Second row - SAM THAIDAY (Broncos): Back to his running best. His opening 20 minutes got Brisbane off to the start it needed against the Cowboys.
Second row - MITCH AUBUSSON (Roosters): Proved a handy replacement for Sonny Bill Williams, crossing twice and looking dangerous every time he got his hands on the ball.
Lock - TRENT MERRIN (Dragons): Back-rower who did all the leg-work with 27 tackles against the Warriors.
