Fiji honours gold medal-winning coach with unusual gift
RUGBY: Fiji rugby sevens coach Ben Ryan has been given three acres of land in Fiji after helping the country win its first Olympic medal.
The Englishman was also given an honorary native name, Ratu Peni Raiyani Latianara, after the Fijians defeated Great Britain 43-7 in the gold-medal match.
Last week Ryan also received the Companion of the Order of Fiji, the country's highest honour.
The 44-year-old is planning to step down as Fijian coach and has reportedly been inundated with job offers.
