FOR car enthusiast Felix Cefai, being invited to Meguiar's MotorEx in Sydney to show off his 1957 Chevrolet is the ultimate compliment.
The Bundaberg man is attending the prestigious car event this weekend after receiving the invitation from a judge who noticed his car when it was displayed at two Queensland competitions earlier this year.
"I entered my car in the Street Machine Summernats Car Festival at the start of the year and also recently attended the Mackay Motorshow in May where I won Top American," Mr Cefai said.
"The main judge at Summernats in Canberra, his name is Owen Webb, is the one who invited me to attend Motor Ex."
Mr Cefai trekked to Sydney for the event where his bright red Chev is on display in the main dome.
The car has recently been completely restored after six years of continuous work.
"It features a new paint job, custom trim and dash, new gauges and brand new Boyd Cottington 20 and 18-inch wheels," Mr Cefai said.
"It also has 385 stroker engine with 350 turbo auto transmission, nine inch diff, two link rear end and adjustable coilovers."
The '57 Chev will sit among some of best street elite cars in Australia at Meguiar's MotorEx.
The event is the largest and most prestigious motoring enthusiast event of its kind in Australia and attracts hundreds of Australia's best cars each year, which travel from all over the country to create an amazing visual spectacle of colour, chrome and individual style.
Mr Cefai said he felt honoured to be attending.
"I'm looking forward to being there in the atmosphere with all the other high-end cars," he said.
"I am very excited. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
