Family of woman killed by runaway car overwhelmed by support
Deborah Devine is the sister-in-law of Teena Devine, the woman tragically killed by a runaway car at Pomona Markets on February 13.
I SET up a Go Fund Me for Teena so that her husband, Jim, and his two daughters could give Teena a beautiful send off.
When I set up the campaign I wasn't sure how it would go and thought maybe I would get a couple of hundred dollars to put towards the funeral costs.
I was so overwhelmed with the support and donations that came pouring in not only from family and friends, work mates of Teena but from the general community total strangers who were all touched by her death.
In a space of three day days after setting up the Go Fund Me I had reached the goal I had set for $10,000 and I actually ended up with $10,990.00.
Tomorrow I will be meeting with my niece Peta Devine, the eldest daughter of Teena, when I will go to my bank and have it transferred into her fathers account Jim Devine and than they can pay all the bills for Teenas Funeral.
I want to thank every single person who contributed to this cause.
Without your help Teena's funeral cost would have been a struggle on the family.
I want to thank everyone for their kind words of support and donations.
It is so lovely to know that so many caring people are always willing to support the Go Fund Me.
Don't stop here because so many people are needing help on there.
My next goal is to ensure this tragic accident never happens again and something is done about putting guard rails at the top of the hill.
