High-set house fire "suspicious" say police
EMERGENCY services remain on-scene at a Stanley St house, where they are investigating a suspicious house fire.
Fire fighters, police officers and paramedics were on scene overnight at a Stanley St house, where a fire had started on the bottom storey of the high-set home.
Smoke had filled both levels of the home, and fire fighters worked to control the fire which began in a bedroom on the lower level.
No one was home at the time.
QFES officer Noel King said they were on-scene at about 8.30pm.
"On arrival we had a fully-involved bottom storey of the house, no persons reported," Mr King said.
"The top storey of the building was smoke-logged mainly.
"At this stage we are treating it as suspicious, we will have out investigators attend the scene at 8 o'clock in the morning."
