'East-west' rail line for Galilee Basin
QR NATIONAL and Indian mining firm Adani will collaborate to build an "east-west" rail line to service its Galilee Basin operation in Central Queensland.
Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney earlier announced that rail lines would not criss-cross rural Queensland but be limited to a north-south line and east-west line.
The north-south version will be used by the monster GVK Hancock project, worth $6.4 billion approved earlier this year.
"We're pleased to see such progress on future investment into the untapped Galilee coal resources," Mr Seeney said.
