Dressmaker uses skills to move from corporate to creative world
A Toowoomba woman’s decision to move from the corporate to creative world after battling breast cancer turned out to be the best thing she could have done.
Dale Grobler started Kasch Fashion Design and Personal Styling in December where she designs and created clothing for people of all shapes and sizes.
Each piece is uniquely made to suit an individual’s body shape, style and personality.
Ms Grobler designs bridal, evening and formal wear as well as everyday clothing “with a bit of pizzazz.”
She said she had been dress making since she was seven years old after being taught by her mother and grandmother.
“I would say my designs are quirky and unusual, so if you want a mother of the bride outfit that isn’t like everyone else’s call me,” she said.
“My favourite clothing to design would be bridal, including the entire bridal party, and formal wear where I can take ideas from customers and mix them up together to create something special just for you.
“Most outfits take a month or so, but it’s about six months for a wedding dress.
“I also make bridal gowns and other outfits for clients all over the country who can’t get to a dressmaker.”
Ms Grobler also offers personal styling sessions one-on-one or in groups.
“A new part of my business is my Sip and Style parties, where I come into your home and meet with you and a group of friends. You can have a few drinks while I teach you how to put outfits together and mix up how you wear the clothes you own.
“I put items together which maybe they had never thought to put together.
“I style men and women and can even clear out your wardrobe and reorganise it.”
