Designer brands and no clothing wastage at city boutique

A TOOWOOMBA boutique sells high quality fashion items from international designer brands, but they are sourced a little differently to other retailers in town.

Love Me Forever is a consignment boutique, meaning it resells quality new and nearly new fashion items including clothing, shoes, jewellery, scarves and handbags.

It is owned and operated by Leanne Burgess, who initially opened in Cabarlah in 2018 and then as a pop-up shop in 2019.

But with a new location in Toowoomba, Ms Burgess said her vision about the city having a greater need for her store was correct.

Ms Burgess said people would bring in designer clothing for her to resell, and she was very selective of what they took on consignment.

"It must be clean and in almost new condition," she said.

"We have a great range of Australian and international designer brands including Country Road, Witchery, Carla Zampatti, Spencer and Rutherford, David Lawrence, Versace, Dolce and Gobbana, and Ralph Lauren.

"Clothing that is not suitable for consignment is set aside for those in need.

"Clothing that is damaged or no longer suitable to wear is cut and recycled into quilts for the needy."

Ms Burgess said the idea came about after her friends who were in the fashion industry asked her if she would consider selling some of their clothing items.

"The name just seemed to make sense with the current need to take better care of our earth and the environment. There is so much wastage in clothing," she said.

The store is located at 220 Ruthven St and is open Monday to Saturday.
