Coles’ Caramilk offer has fans flocking
Aussie chocolate lovers released a collective "ahh" when Cadbury announced the return of one if its cult favourites - Caramilk.
In fact, shelves across some major retail chains were immediately stripped bare when customers heard of its comeback.
If its enticing taste wasn't enough to nab the popular block, Cadbury has given fans another reason - it's giving away a bonus smartwatch when you buy three of its chocolate products at Coles.
Those keen to get their hands on the gadget have until July 22 to score one of 25,000 smartwatches - all while stocks last of course.
How does it work? Shoppers need to purchase any three Cadbury treats from Coles in one transaction, then head to the website with the receipt to redeem the offer.
The smartwatch is valued at $28.
Already fans are flocking to their nearest store after a member of the popular Facebook group Markdown Addicts Australia spotted the promotion on a Cadbury Caramilk display, sparking huge interest from fellow chocoholics when sharing the snap on the page.
"Three blocks of Caramilk and a free watch, doesn't get better than that," one member wrote.
"Free smart watch to burn off the calories," another joked.
"What a coincidence I need chocolate this week. I mean a smart watch, yes that's what I meant I need a smart watch," a third commented.
Hundreds of others revealed they have already uploaded their receipt to the page.
The recent Caramilk comeback marks at least the third relaunch, but fans are hoping it has a permanent spot on shelves given its huge popularity.
"So sick of it coming out for a couple of weeks then it goes into hiding again," one fan wrote online.
"Just make it a permanent line already," said another shopper on Cadbury's Facebook when it announced the chocolate's return.
The smartwatch offer comes after Cadbury Australia pledged it support for the nation's Olympic and Paralympic athletes as the teams' Official Chocolate Partner for Tokyo 2020, earlier in the year.
However, with the 2020 Games being posted due to the coronavirus pandemic, the chocolate giant still wanted to show its support.
"While the excitement that comes with the Olympics and Paralympics has been put on hold for 12 months, our Smart Watch giveaway offers people a fun tool they can use to help them stay active as life slowly returns to normal," Kathy De Lullo, Senior Marketing Manager at Mondelez Australia said.
"We'll be partnering with some amazing Australian athletes to encourage people to spend some time on their wellbeing during a period when we've had so many other things to focus on."
Full terms and conditions of the offer can be found on the Cadbury website.
