Church celebrates birthday

THE Bundaberg Baptist Church will start a weekend of celebrations to mark its 70th anniversary tomorrow.

Church Pastor Al Loder said proceedings would start at 2pm with an opportunity to meet up with friends from the past and to make new friends.

There will be memorabilia displays of past activities and programs where people can reminisce of times gone by.

The display will also include programs that are active at present.

Pastor Loder said a special feature of the day would be the running of the old fashioned Sunday School Picnic Races.

There will also be other fun activities for children including jumping castles and games to play.

This will be followed by an evening of Music through the Ages.

On Sunday the celebrations will continue with the Morning Family Worship Service at 9am.

Rev Dr David Loder, the General Superintendent of the Baptist Union of Queensland, will be the guest speaker for the weekend.

The weekend of celebrations will end with a Nightlife Service at 6pm conducted by the Youth Band.
