Celebrating music in education
MUSIC students from across the region have brought their diverse talents to the stage as part of the annual Crush Festival.
Four-hundred and sixty students came together at Moncrieff Theatre yesterday for a gala music concert to celebrate the benefits of music in education.
It is part of a number of activities this month including the gathering of 500,000 students across Australia, including 300 Kalkie State School students, who will perform one song, on the same day, at the same time.
Kalkie State School music teacher Sharlene Peterson said this was a fantastic yearly event at Kalkie and showed the unifying power of music in education.
The students will take part in a video-link with John Foreman in Canberra on the Thursday, October 30 at 11.30am.
Later that evening, the Kalkie Drumband will lead the Zombie Walk through Hinkler Central in support of Newro Foundation and Orange Thumbs.
