Record weekend missions for CareFlight
RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopters have experienced an extremely busy period over the weekend, flying a remarkable 23 missions in just three days - almost eight missions each day.
Traditionally, CareFlight crews across Queensland fly a combined four missions each day, on average.
But warm weather and clear skies may have been responsible for drawing people outdoors across the state, some of whom required urgent aeromedical care at a number of accident scenes.
CareFlight general manager of Operations Brian Guthrie said that the successful execution of a high volume of tasks was testament to the organisation's operational procedures.
"Busy periods like this really show the versatility of the organisation, and the specialised skill sets of our crews," Mr Guthrie said.
