Caravan Club turns 25
THE Bundaberg Caravan Club will be conducting their 25th Anniversary Rally at the Turtle Sands Tourist Park, Mon Repos on September 9 and 10.
The club was formed in September 1991 after a meeting called by Bob and Dawn
Over the years, a total of 151 caravan owners have joined and many have attended local, state and national rallies to meet fellow caravan owners.
At present the club has an active membership of 39 caravan owners, three life members and four social members, with ages ranging from mid-fifties to one couple aged
The club conducts rallies within a 300 radius of Bundaberg and have visited many caravan parks, showgrounds, scout camps and free camps during the years.
Each year, the club also supports charities with donations from fund-raising by members.
The club is affiliated with the Combined Caravan Clubs of Queensland along with 33 other clubs in Queensland. This provides public risk insurance for members when attending club rallies and visiting attractions at each venue.
It keeps records of the amount of revenue generated at the different towns/cities and this is forwarded to CCCQ in their efforts to improve facilities for caravan and motor home owners.
The club prides itself on being "family orientated”, with members supporting each other with any problems with their caravans and vehicles.
We receive excellent support from the local caravan dealers and associated suppliers, for which we are very grateful.
Past members are welcome to attend the 3pm Friday cutting of the anniversary cake and renewing friendships with fellow members.
For catering purposes, anyone wishing to attend is asked to contact current president, John Tadgell on 4152 9637 or 0427 529 637.
