Bundaberg Rum inspires Dan and Steph's sausages
RUM lovers have another great reason to go along to the grand opening of the Bundaberg Rum visitor centre today with an exclusive rum-inspired dish.
Celebrity cooks Dan and Steph Mulheron have made a secret recipe using their own beef and bacon sausages with a splash of Bundaberg Rum.
The NewsMail spoke with Steph, who said she didn't want to give too much away but the gourmet sausage sizzle was one not to be missed.
"We have used the Bundaberg Mutiny Rum with raisins and sultanas,” she said.
"Now I can't say too much but there will be something for everyone and non-alcohol ones for the kids.”
She said they enjoyed cooking with all the different rum blends which were available at Bundaberg Rum.
"They can be used in so many ways,” she said.
"We've travelled Australia with our pop-up sausages and it's great to have this new experience so close to home.
"We are very lucky and humbled to be involved in this opening.”
Steph congratulated Bundaberg Rum and said she saw in her sneak peek at the centre they had poured their heart and soul in to it.
The gates of the Bundaberg Rum multi-million-dollar facility will open today at 10.30am, entry via Hill St, East Bundaberg.
Bundaberg Rum fans will be able to take a tour through the new rum museum and distillery.
