Bundy link to Gold Coast murder

POLICE believe there may be a Bundaberg connection to a decade-old murder on the Gold Coast.

Darren Britza's skeletal remains were located under a bridge on Biddadaba Rd, Boyland, in 2008, after record rainfall unearthed the grave site.

Investigations led police to a Southport industrial area, which they believe was the scene of the murder prior to Mr Britza's body being dumped under the bridge.

A recent call to Crime Stoppers has led police to be interested in the movements of a white Holden Commodore stationwagon and a blue Holden Commodore sedan which were seen on Minnie St, Southport, near the murder scene.

Detective Acting Inspector Lincoln McLeod said valuable information had been provided through the public calling police.

“Along with our current information, we believe the recent caller to Crime Stoppers may be able to assist further, so we are appealing for him to call back,” he said.

In 2009, a 36-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were charged with murder.

Investigations are continuing in the Bundaberg and Gold Coast areas.
