UPDATE: Truck driver to be flown to Brisbane after crash
UPDATE: Six patients were involved in a three-vehicle crash which has closed the highway near Howard this morning.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said of the six, four had received minor injuries and are set to be taken to Maryborough Hospital.
She said the male truck driver however, had received serious head and chest injuries and would be flown to Brisbane.
The spokeswoman said another male patient had sustained a head injury and will be taken to Hervey Bay.
The crash, which happened just after 10am this morning near William St and the Bruce Highway, involved a truck and two vehicles.
EARLIER: EMERGENCY services have been called to a multi-vehicle crash near Howard this morning.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said it was believed that three vehicles were involved.
QAS reported that paramedics were "on the scene of a serious multi-vehicle crash" on William St and the Bruce Highway at 10.30am.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the highway was blocked near Phillip St.
He said a helicopter was en-route and it's believed that a truck and two cars were involved in the incident.
