THE district men's pennant competition has reached the halfway stage with only two teams across the seven divisions remaining undefeated, Bargara in Division 1 and Across The Waves in Div 4.
In the top of the table clash in Div 1 Bargara took advantage of their home game to defeat ATW two rinks to one, with an overall margin of 10 shots. Woodgate defeated Burnett by five shots for their first win of the season.
Three clubs all share the lead in Div 2 with two victories each. Bargara, Moore Park, and ATW sit on the ladder in this order split only by margins. This division will remain on a knife's edge throughout the remaining competition.
Bundaberg and Brothers clubs share the leader board with four points having two wins each in Div 3.
As mentioned ATW have cleared out at the top of the table in Div 4 winning all three rounds to date. Bargara, Gin Gin and Isis Central Mill will be doing the chasing over the next weeks to secure a final spot.
Div 5 has Bargara and Childers who both have synthetic surfaces on top of the table with four points. This should be an interesting battle over the remaining three rounds.
ATW and Moore Park share the lead in Div 6 with two wins each.
An enthralling battle remains ahead of us in Div 7. Bundaberg, East Bundaberg and Woodgate all share the lead with two wins each. With small margins separating the teams in most of the round games a close finish is expected to play out in this division.
