ATW retains coach for 2016

AFTER winning the Bundaberg Division 1 final earlier this year against United Park Eagles, Across the Waves have re-signed coach Jason De Papi as they look to go back-to-back in 2016.

Announced on the club's official Facebook page, they said "De Papi has had a fantastic career at our club as a player and coach and the committee would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Papi on his appointment for the 2016 season".

Last season was a successful one for the club with a Division 1 title and a minor premiership in the Three Cities League.

The only blemish for the season was a semi-final loss to Brothers Aston Villa who took the Three Cities League title.

De Papi will now be looking to build on that and win the double next year for the club.

Across the Waves have also announced their first training session for 2016.

It will be held on January 7 at 6.30pm at the Waves Sports Complex.

They are welcoming all players who have previously played for the club and those who want to play the sport for the first time.

People interested can either head to the Across the Waves Football Club Facebook page or arrive to training on the first day.

The NewsMail tried to contact De Papi for comment but he was unavailable.
