Frosty vege prices: How not to blow the budget
AN ICY winter has led to a rise in veggie prices but there are still cheap options for a delicious winter soup.
Betros Bros owner operator Bevan Betros has some advice for those not wanting to blow the family budget.
"Customers are wondering why the prices are so dear. It's because of the frost, some veges are in short supply and that pushes up the cost," he said.
"Steer away from the vegetables like zucchini and broccoli."
He said the veges to stick to were potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, cauliflower, leeks, imported asparagus, beans, celery, onions and sweet potatoes.
